How I Incorporate Daily Self Care
Did you fill your cup this weekend?
So many of us LIVE for the weekend. I sure as shit used to as well. But when you spend time filling your cup each and every day, the weekends are still nice, but you don’t quite live for the weekend anymore!!
How do you find time for self-care day-to-day??
For me… It all lies in the morning ritual!!!
When I first started my journey, I worked 3 jobs at a time, starting at 7 am… With two young kids, finding time felt impossible.
I began with 10 grateful thoughts in the morning and 10 at night. I said them to myself in my mind.
When my workload was much more “normal” (40 hours rather than 80+), I began waking up an hour before the kids and writing in a journal over my first coffee of the day.
Now that I make my own schedule, and often find myself working some evening hours, so I dedicate at least an hour each morning to aligning with my higher self before I start my workday!!
My morning ritual has evolved over time, and I’m sure it will continue to do so.
Today it includes:
- writing a page of a gratitude list
- writing a page of affirmation statements
- writing a brain dump based on a journal prompt
- doing yoga
- pulling oracle cards for myself
Whether it’s 5, 15, 50, or more minutes… That morning ritual will help you align with your higher self, making it easier to find gratitude in each day… Making living for the weekend obsolete!
